WASHINGTON — While you won't find "It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on TV this year, everyone can still watch the classic Halloween special for free this weekend.
While the animated specials used to air on network TV around the holidays, this will be the third year in a row where you can only watch the Halloween special on Apple TV+. The streaming service became the home to all things Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, including the beloved holiday specials, back in 2020.
If you're already a subscriber of Apple TV+, you can watch the Peanuts specials any time you want, all season long.
Before you say "good grief," Apple has announced it'll once again make all of the Charlie Brown holiday specials available for nonsubscribers to watch for free for a couple days each.
“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” will be available to watch for free on Apple TV+ on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20; “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will be available November 23 and November 24; and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be available December 14 and December 15.
"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" premiered on CBS in 1966, then moved to ABC in 2001, where it had aired every year until 2020.
