DELTONA, Ga. -- Several people at a senior living facility are recovering after a vicious attack in Florida - by a squirrel.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the attack was called in to a Volusia County Sheriff's Office around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The incident apparently started outside a nursing home in Deltona, Fla. when someone was attacked by a squirrel and couldn't break free.
The person went inside and the squirrel "went wild" and started attacking others inside an activity room.
The paper reports calls from the scene that as many as four people were attacked before someone managed to throw the rodent outdoors and some of the victims were bleeding.
The facility had little comment for the Orlando Sentinel except that those who were attacked were doing fine.
The fate of the squirrel is unknown.
