The groundbreaking for a new Margaritaville hotel is set for Friday morning in Jacksonville Beach.
The approximate address for the new hotel is 700 1st Street North, and the groundbreaking is set to start at 10:30 a.m.
This event is not open to the public and is strictly for planning purposes. The hotel is planned to open during the Spring of 2021.
It will be an 8-story hotel featuring 202 guestrooms and suites. There will be a 2-story Landshark Bar & Grill inside the hotel, which will not only have upstairs and downstairs seating but an outside dining area with a fire pit.
This groundbreaking comes a little less than a month after new renderings were released of what the hotel is slated to look like.
The design team worked closely with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission to design and incorporate well-lit beachfront pedestrian areas to help conserve local sea turtle populations.
When the Jacksonville Beach location opens in 2021, it will join the over 8 other locations found in Florida, including one in Orlando.
Until then, First Coast News will be busy searchin' for our lost shaker of salt.
