Jeanie Louise Rozar died Saturday after becoming entangled with the bus, according to police and witnesses.

Her family is asking for privacy as they grieve, according to their lawyer from The Law Offices of Randy Reep.

JTA released a statement saying the name of the bus driver is being withheld as the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigates the incident. The driver has been placed on a "Hold Off" status, meaning he has been removed from service and will remain so until the investigation is complete, according to JTA.

Ocean Street was closed for multiple hours as police investigated the scene on Saturday.

JTA Media and Public Relations Manager, David Cawton II, released the following statement about the incident:

"The Jacksonville Transportation Authority would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. The safety and security of our customers, employees and the community is paramount. We are cooperating with the JSO's ongoing investigation to get to the bottom of what happened."

A witness told First Coast News Rozar's arm became stuck in the door as she was getting off the bus.

"When [the bus driver] realized her arm was in the door, he stopped the bus and opened the door," the witness said. "When he opened the door, her arm came out and she got caught up under the bus."

It is unclear if the bus driver is facing any charges.
