A woman found unconscious in Jacksonville's Northside Thursday evening was ultimately pronounced dead, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
JSO officers responded to a home on Pheasant Drive just before 6 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, they found an unconcoius female at the home. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was called and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office said the person who found the woman came to the house to stay with a family member during Hurricane Milton. That family member is being interviewed at the Police Memorial Building.
The circumstances surrounding the incident and the relationships between those involved are still unclear, according to the sheriff's office, which is continuing its investigation.
