CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities have identified a woman found dead along a Cabarrus County highway and arrested a man in connection with her death.
Iltride Dade, 33, was found along US Highway 601 S on Nov. 4, according to the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office. Investigators recently learned about her identity and released it in a news release on Monday.
Dade was reported missing by her family in Orange County, Florida on Nov. 2. Investigators say she was known to be with her boyfriend Jacques Hans-Jerome when she was reported missing.
Hans-Jerome and Dade were traveling on his long-haul truck driving route at the time of her death. Court records say Dade's body was found in trash bags and discarded near a bridge.
Hans-Jerome was arrested on Thursday and charged with unlawful concealment of death. Authorities say he has addresses in Jacksonville, Florida and Concord, N.C.
Investigators believe Dade was not killed near the place where she was located.
He is being held at the Cabarrus County jail with a $1 million bond. His next court date is Dec. 12.
