JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fatal traffic crash led to the death of a woman near the 9500 block of Eastport Road in North Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., police said a Polaris UTV was southbound climbing a sand hill. When it reached the top of the hill, it turned to go back down the hill and rolled over ejecting both occupants, who JSO identified as "white female occupants."
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department. JSO did not release more information regarding the victim. The passenger also suffered non life-threatening injuries, police said.
The sheriff's office said the death is the 173rd traffic fatality this year.
