JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The impacts of Tropical Storm Debby left behind some serious flooding in neighborhoods in Jacksonville.
High flood water is what Callie Spain and her husband are walking through just to get out their front door.
"It was pretty bad yesterday, but now it’s worse," said Spain. The water reached her knees.
No water has made its way into her home, but it has gotten in her car.
"My husband just drove the car over here, and it went into the engine area and was making a loud noise and tore off the bottom of the plate on our car," she said.
Spain's lived in her home on Connie Jean Road for five years, and said this flooding on her side of the neighborhood is an ongoing problem. She's hoping it can get resolved soon.
"I think it’s getting out of hand. It causes issues where people, when they go to drive down our area, they drive into our grass, and causing damage to our area as well," said Spain. "We’re kind of worried about it, because when it rains like this it takes a while for it to go down."
Spain said she believed the flooding is being caused by a problem with the pipes outside her home. She said she's asked her mobile home park to do something about it and right now she's still waiting for the problem to be fixed.
