Watch parties across Duval County tuned into historic presidential debate Tuesday night

Duval Dems and Duval GOP held watch parties to watch Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris go head to head in historic debate.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Watch parties across Duval County were packed with people and filled with energy.

Duval Dems and Duval GOP both held their own parties at different locations, but people at both eagerly watched and reacted to both presidential candidates take center stage for the nation to see them debate for the first time, just 55 days before one of the two candidates is elected as president. 

"This is a historic election and I’m so proud to see her represent the rights of women," said Nekinia Wright, Vice Chair of Duval Dems. 

Duval Dems held up 'Harris For President' signs to show their support for VP Harris.

"I think Vice President Kamala Harris will make the case against Donald Trump and the fact that he is not fit for office and she is going to prove and show everyone that she has the experience and she’s ready to lead," said Wright.

At another watch party, tuned into the same debate. Duval GOP members wore 'Make America Great Again' hats as they backed former President Trump. 

"Watch President Trump win another debate and march towards the presidency," said Steve Adams, Vice Chairman of Duval GOP.

"Kamala Harris is trying to run away from everything she stood for she’s flip flopping on every position," said Adams, "President Trump is highlighting just the total failure of the Harris Biden administration." 

The Presidential Election is 55 days away. 

The last day to register to vote is October 7.
