Watch: Officer on horseback apprehends accused seltzer thief near Riverside gas station

JSO said Sgt. Ben Rhoden was "on patrol with his mounted partner Ace" when he spotted the man accused of stealing from the gas station.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville sergeant on horseback tracked down and apprehended a man the sheriff's office said stole items from a gas station in Riverside.

JSO said Sgt. Ben Rhoden was "on patrol with his mounted partner Ace" when he spotted the man accused of stealing from the gas station.

Rhoden's body camera shows the sergeant track down the suspect to a public bench outside a Gate gas station. Rhoden ordered the man to sit down while he dismounted his horse.

Rhoden then placed the man in handcuffs before going through his backpack where he found a pack of Truly alcoholic seltzers.

"Just say neigh to stealing alcohol," JSO posted on X

JSO said an off duty corrections officer witnessed the incident and is seen in the video assisting Rhoden.
