The roof of the historic Bunn building in Waycross, Georgia went up in flames Thursday afternoon.
The fire department says restoration crews were on the roof when sparks were created, starting the fire. The fire chief added that at the fire's height, about 50 firefighters were on scene.
The Downtown Development Authority says no one was hurt and the building sustained no major damage.
The building, built in 1912, was once deemed fire-proof. It now abandoned but once housed a pharmacy and a theatre, among other things.
