The USS Sioux City docked at Naval Station Mayport Wednesday morning.
Mayport will be the ship's new home port after it was commissioned at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
The shipped docked before 9 a.m. where sailors were greeted by several family members.
It's the first naval vessel to be named in honor of Sioux City, Iowa, which is the fourth-largest city in the state.
The ship cost about $362 million and measures about 378 feet long with a beam of 57.4 feet, according to Military.com. Its top speed is 45 knots, the fastest surface combatant in the fleet, according to the commissioning committee.
