Two people found dead in Southside apartment after apparent murder-suicide

From reviewing evidence, JSO said it appears a man shot and killed his spouse before "taking his own life," and the case is currently classified as "pending."

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man and woman were found dead in a condominium Wednesday morning following a shooting, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers were dispatched around 9 a.m. Wednesday to Windrush Lane after the victims, spouses, were found dead during a wellbeing check by family members, police said.

The Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit were on scene, but the case is classified as "pending." The agency said it appeared the man shot and killed the woman "prior to taking his own life." 

The victims are in their "early to mid-30s," police said. JSO is working with the Medical Examiner's Office and canvassing the neighborhood.
