Two Palm Coast pedestrians killed in early morning crash on State Road 100 and U.S. 1

Charges are pending after the driver failed to remain on scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

BUNNELL, Fla. — A crash in Bunnell left two pedestrians dead Sunday morning with charges pending against the driver, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

A pickup truck driven by a 51-year-old Palm Coast man was traveling northbound on U.S. 1 around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, and three pedestrians were walking across the northbound lanes. The truck collided with and failed to remain on scene, the crash report said.

The driver was later located in the Terranova's Pizzeria parking lot on State Road 100. Charges are pending, FHP said.

Troopers said a 59-year-old Palm Coast woman and a 50-year-old Palm Coast woman sustained fatal injuries from the crash and were pronounced dead on scene. Another pedestrian, a 48-year-old Bunnell man, was in critical condition at a local hospital.
