Middleburg man dead after ATV strikes truck in Fleming Island dealership parking lot, FHP says

Florida Highway Patrol said the victim, the driver of the ATV, struck a stationary pickup truck as it was traveling north on the grassy shoulder of U.S. 17.

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. — A 36-year-old Middleburg man was killed in Fleming Island Friday after a crash involving a truck and an ATV, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.

The ATV was involved in a crash with a stationary pickup truck in the Holeshot Powersports parking lot entrance, killing the man after it overturned, the report said. The crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. 

Another passenger in the ATV, a 40-year-old Keystone Heights man, sustained minor injuries, the report said.

There was no road blockage, but troopers urged caution near the scene.

The report said the victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
