Trailer fire on commercial property in Jacksonville prompts large JFRD presence

JFRD Captain Eric Prosswimmer says the trailer was vacant at the time the fire occurred and is on commercial property, as there are no injuries reported.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A trailer fire on Jacksonville's Westside Thursday morning prompted a large presence from first responders with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

According to a JFRD X (formerly known as Twitter) post, crews began working on the fire at the "mobile home," located at 1602 Jones Rd., at 6:44 a.m.

A neighbor told First Coast News that the fire happened around 5 a.m.

JFRD Captain Eric Prosswimmer says the trailer was vacant at the time the fire occurred and is on commercial property, as there are no injuries reported.

The Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire; it is currently out, according to Prosswimmer.
