ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- About 400 TECO Peoples Gas customers in the World Golf Village area are without gas Tuesday, officials said.
While doing maintenance work Monday night, crews accidentally shut off the wrong valve, Cheri Jacobs with TECO confirmed to First Coast News.
Before gas can be restored to the area, TECO workers have to go door-to-door to every home and turn off a valve, which requires someone to be home, Jacobs said.
TECO anticipates gas will be restored later in the day.
