JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- A Duval County Elementary School teacher is suspended for 30 days after he was accused of pinching a student so hard, he broke the student's skin and left bruises behind.
The School Board suspended Rashawn Stout, a teacher at Richard L. Brown Elementary, on Monday.
DCF investigators notified the school's principal on October 2 that Stout pinched a student leaving two marks and that two students witnessed the incident. DCF says Stout admitted that he lightly pinched the student, according to documents obtained by First Coast News.
The victim, a second grade girl, told investigators that Stout pinched her on her stomach and arm after she refused to sop rolling on the floor.
While the school district has moved forward with suspending Stout, the State Attorney's office tells us that he will not be criminally prosecuted due to "insufficient evidence".
