JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After a long summer break, First Coast News' Teacher of the Week series is back for the 2024-2025 school year!
This week, we shine the spotlight on Mrs. Jeans, a kindergarten teacher at Jacksonville Country Day School, who knows what it takes to be "OWL-of this World" - calling her students inside of the classroom just that.
Jacksonville Country Day School is the place to be with phenomenal teachers like Mrs. Jeans. Her teaching method is all about making students feel safe and secure, all while having a good time learning inside the classroom.
“Kids learn best when there is an emotional connection,” Mrs. Jeans told First Coast News.
And although school has only been in session for about four weeks, Mrs. Jeans was nominated by her fellow peers for her extraordinary commitment to teaching.
“I love this school, and I hope it shows,” said Mrs. Jeans.
And with 18 students inside the classroom, Mrs. Jeans make sure each student feels loved.
“I love my little owls,” said Mrs. Jeans.
First Coast News says thank you, Mrs. Jeans, for your hard work, already kicking off a fantastic school year!
