SUV drives into Publix on Jacksonville's Westside

A cashier told First Coast News the driver was an older man who hit the gas instead of the brakes.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An SUV drove into the Publix in the 4400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard Wednesday afternoon. The car drove into a pillar outside of the Publix and suffered front damage.

A Publix employee told First Coast News the driver was an "older" man who hit the gas instead of the brakes. The employee said the man did not appear injured and no one inside was injured.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office confirmed they were on the scene, but did not provide any other information.

The Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department says no one was injured and no one went to the hospital.
