St. Johns County Fire Rescue lieutenant and wife found dead after apparent murder-suicide

Lieutenant Shawn Yarbrough of the St. Johns County Fire Rescue Department and his wife, Andrea Nicole Yarbrough, were both found dead on Thursday.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A St. Johns County Fire Rescue lieutenant and his wife were found dead inside a home in the Entrada Subdivision in St. Augustine on Thursday at approximately 9:20 p.m., according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Friday night, the sheriff's office confirmed the two victims were Lt. Shawn Yarbrough and Andrea Nicole Yarbrough. 

Police say Shawn Yarbrough died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. They are calling Andrea Yarbrough's death a homicide; she also died from a gunshot wound.

The causes of death were determined by Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Wendolyn Sneed. 

SJSO is calling this a "tragic isolated incident."
