VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A small, single-engine plane crashed off a grass airstrip in Oak Hill in Volusia County Tuesday, according to the Volusia Sheriff's Office.
The pilot was attempting to take off, lost control and struck a tree, according to VSO. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
