JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Sadie Tillis Elementary was on lockdown Thursday morning due to a social media threat. A person has since been taken into custody, according to Duval County Public Schools.
The school is now safe and reopened, officials said.
Duval County School Police were notified of the threat around 6 a.m. by the FBI, according to Chief Gregory Burton. Police believe the threat was "credible".
A man has been arrested and taken into custody by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. He has not been identified, at this time, however Burton said he is not a student at Sadie Tillis.

Hello Sadie Tillis Families, this is Duval County Public Schools calling. I apologize for interrupting your morning, but I know you will want to be aware of this information. We have received a tip that a person on social media was threatening to conduct a shooting at Sadie Tillis. The person also made a bomb threat. Therefore, the school is currently on lockdown and there is a police presence at the school.
Please do not come to the school at this time. Buses to the school will be re-directed to Westside Middle School where children will be held until the situation at Sadie Tillis is clear. If your children are walkers or car riders, please keep your children at home until further notice. We will follow up with you when it is safe for children to come to Sadie Tillis. Again, if your children ride buses, they will be diverted to Westside Middle School. If your children are walkers or car riders, please do not come to the school at this time and await further information. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we take steps necessary to keep all children and staff safe.
