ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. — First responders with the St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to two separate incidents at the St. Augustine Beach Pier Sunday afternoon, one involving a person nearly drowning and one involving another person who went missing in the water.
The potential drowning happened at around 3:30 p.m. and ended with the person being rushed to Flagler Hospital in serious condition, fire rescue said.
Later, search efforts began for a person who was last seen out in the water at around 4:25 p.m.
The missing person is described as an adult male with blonde hair last seen wearing gray shorts.
Fire rescue says both incidents do not appear to be connected.
