JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigated reports of someone who drove through the St. Johns Town Center pointing an assault-style rifle at people.
JSO told First Coast News police responded to the scene at around 9:10 p.m. They cleared the scene soon afterward.
There are no reports of shots being fired in the area or anyone being hurt. JSO has also not officially confirmed the reports.
A couple leaving Restoration Hardware told First Coast News a group of teenage girls ran inside asking them to call police.
"They were kind of hysterical screaming that there was a white pickup truck that was driving around with an assault rifle sticking out of the window, and that they that whoever was inside needed to call the cops immediately," a witness who asked not to be named told First Coast News. "They started calling the cops. The security for RH started calling the cops as well. We saw the white pickup truck kind of kind of screech by going through the window as we are walking out."
A spokeperson for St. Johns Town Center told First Coast News nothing was reported to the security team. Restoration Hardward did not return FCN's call.
