CRESCENT CITY, Fla. — A 33-year-old Crescent City man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Thursday for child porn and molestation, Putnam County officials said.
Daniel Wayne Adams was arrested in February by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office after detectives received a cyber tip of child pornography on Adams' computer.
Adams was charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography, officials said. After he was arrested, a search warrant was executed on his electronic devices where detectives found "pictures that appeared to be taken in Adams' room involving a child in a sexualized manner."
Adams was additionally charged with molestation on a victim under 12 years old. He accepted a plea deal Tuesday.
"We are extremely please in the outcome of this case," Sheriff H.D. DeLoach said. "A plea in this situation ensures the child victim never has to look at this predator again and doesn't have to relive the trauma of the abuse that occurred."
