Boy killed, another injured after fight ends with double shooting at Westside apartment complex

Investigators believe the boys were shot after a fight broke out in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 6000 block of 103rd Street.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a double shooting that ended with the death of a boy Saturday night on the Westside.

According to JSO, at about 7:45 p.m., officers responded to the 6000 block of 103rd Street after receiving a report of a shooting in the area.

One boy was found at the scene with a gunshot wound, JSO said. First responders took him to the hospital where he is in stable condition.

According to JSO, officers heard of another boy suffering from a gunshot wound in the 5000 block of Moret Drive East. First responders took him to the hospital where he died.

Investigators believe the boys were shot after a fight broke out in a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 6000 block of 103rd Street. 

JSO did not say how old the victims were but did say they were both juveniles.

There are no suspects in custody.
