PALATKA, Fla. -- The Palatka Police Department confirms Mayor Terrill Hill received a death threat via text from a disgruntled friend saying he will kill him.
According to police, the threat revolved around the mayor’s private occupation. The mayor is an attorney.
Police said the two would encounter each other this past Wednesday at the courthouse in Putnam County.
The Palatka Police Department used a decoy car at the mayor home and increased the mayor’s security on Wednesday. They will not press charges against the individual.
