JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman was found dead in an apartment on Old Kings Road South. A child was also found with her and police say the child is not hurt.
The woman was 32 years old and lived at Kings Crossing Apartments.
Police have a man in custody. They have not released information on who he is or what happened to the woman.
Police say there is no threat to the community.

This marks more than 50 homicides in Jacksonville so far this year. On Old King Road South, three months ago to the day and 0.1 mile away from Kings Crossing Apartments, a robbery suspect was shot and killed by police.
Further up Old Kings Road South to where it meets St. Augustine Road, there have been at least two other shootings this year, according to First Coast News records.
