A St. John's County Sheriff's Office helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing on a Sawgrass golf course Wednesday evening.
The helicopter landed on the Dyes Valley Golf Course, off of Seven Mile Road and Roscoe Boulevard in Ponte Vedra Beach around 6 p.m. This course is not used during The Players.
The two people who were on board when the helicopter landed did not sustain any injuries, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the helicopter was monitoring traffic at The Players Championship when the pilot reported it was going through mechanical issues, and needed to make an emergency landing.
It will likely be some time before the aircraft can be removed from the golf course, according to the St. John's County Sheriff's Office.
