JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A vehicle hit a 10-year-old boy in the street at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Tamaya Boulevard Wednesday night. He was in a marked crosswalk, but the 'do not cross' signal was illuminated.
The Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department reported transporting a pediatric patient to the hospital.
A newly-released vehicle was traveling east on Beach Boulevard before the intersection of Tamaya Boulevard. The 10-year-old was walking south on Beach Boulevard directly ahead of the car. The front of the car hit the 10-year-old.
He was critically injured but survived.
The driver is not facing any charges.
