ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A Palm Coast man was critically injured after he was "unable to maneuver between" an SUV on Interstate 95 in St. Johns County while riding on his motorcycle Sunday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says at 11:10 p.m., the motorcyclist identified as a 39-year-old man, was traveling south on I-95 near mile marker 308. At the same time, the SUV driven by a 24-year-old Ormond Beach man, was also traveling south on I-95 ahead of the motorcyclist, according to FHP.

Troopers say the motorcyclist began to "quickly maneuver between the left lane and center lanes cutting through traffic." FHP then states in the crash report that the man was unable to maneuver between the SUV and another vehicle, thus causing the front of his motorcycle to strike the rear of the SUV.

"The motorcycle then lost control with the driver being thrown from the motorcycle," the report states.

FHP says the motorcyclist was flown to the Orange Park Medical Center, while the Ormond Beach man and 16-year-old passenger suffered no injuries.
