JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The World Golf Village may have new owners -- who could be purchasing the property for a deal.
According to county documents, the World Golf Village Foundation is willing to sell the PGA Tour Production building, the parking area, and the common area in the core of the World Golf Village to St. Johns County.
The $5.5 million price tag was determined by an appraiser, according to the tentative sale agreement.
The agreement also stipulates that the county would need to lease the IMAX Theater back to its current owners (World Golf Village Foundation and the PGA Tour). It would be kept functioning as a theater.
The decision comes as the World Golf Hall of Fame moves out of its home in St. Johns County.
The purchase issue will go before the St. Johns County Commission next week.
