ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The school of the day is The Webster School in St. Johns County!
Students at Webster Elementary returned to the classroom Monday.
Webster was built in 1959 as a neighborhood school with only two hallways, according to the school's website. From 1971 to 1982, the school then became Webster Sixth Grade center, serving all sixth grade students in St. Augustine.
In 1982, Webster changed back into a elementary school with pre-kindergarten to fifth grade students. From 1988 through 1993 Webster was named as one of five Model Technology schools in the state of Florida, which helped make students and staff trailblazers in computer and technological learning.
In 1993, the Yates Center added a new wing at Webster and the school now has handicapped students up to age 22 in attendance.
A big congratulations to The Webster School for being our school of the day! Go Wolverines!
