New rent assistance program could help St. Johns County residents pay months of back-rent

The money is for low-income renters to catch up on past-due rent and utilities, as far back as April 2020.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A new rental assistance program is coming to St. Johns County.

The United States Treasury is giving the county more $2,000,000. The money is for low income renters to catch up on past-due rent and utilities... As far back as april 20-20.

Qualified households can get up to 18 months of help, along with three months of future assistance.

To qualify, you must be a renter in St. Johns County.

There are also income requirements, based on your household. For a family of two, you must earn $56,650 dollars or under to qualify.

A family of four must earn $70,800 or below to qualify.
