JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A live music venue will open inside the old Five Points Sun-Ray Cinema property in January, according to a news release shared with First Coast News on Monday.
Marathon Live, a venue management company, will operate the "newly renovated entertainment space" on 1028 Park Street.
The new venue will be called "FIVE" and aims to "honor the rich, cultural history of the neighborhood," the release states.
The Sun-Ray Cinema officially closed its doors Saturday after showing its final film to a packed crowd. The theater was open in the historic Five Points neighborhood for more than 12 years.
The grand opening of the new music venue is slated for January 2025.
