NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — The Neptune Beach Police Department is currently allowing residents to have their holiday packages be delivered to their headquarters to prevent thefts, according to a Facebook post from the police department.

Police say the 'Holiday Package Receiving Program' is a proactive effort to curb "porch pirates," as package thefts increase each year due to people opting to order items online, according to the post.

However, to take advantage of the program, the police department outlined the following steps residents must take:

  • Have your package sent to the police department's headquarters, located at 200 Lemon St. Neptune Beach, FL 32266
