JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Pets aboard the 737 aircraft that skidded off the NAS Jacksonville runway Friday night have not been retrieved yet, NAS Jax reported.
At a 1:30 a.m. press conference Saturday, NAS Jax said there was a mix of military and civilians on board, and added there may have been pets, but none have been accounted for or recovered.
The Naval Air Station posted an update around 3:30 a.m. stating the pets had not been retrieved due to "safety issues."
"Our hearts and prayers go out to those pet owners during this terrible incident."
