Motorcyclist killed in crash on Atlantic Boulevard

The motorcyclist was a man in his 20's, police said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Atlantic Boulevard around 9:45 p.m. Friday night.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office say the victim was a man in his 20's.

The driver of a Toyota was turning westbound on Atlantic as they were leaving Chilis.

Police say the driver likely misjudged traffic and wasn't able to make it through traffic. The driver likely got caught in the middle of the intersection.

At the same time, a motorcyclist was heading eastbound on Atlantic and collided with the Toyota.

The motorcyclist was thrown off. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The car's driver stopped and is cooperating. There are no signs he was impaired while driving.

This is the second deadly motorcycle crash this year in Duval County.
