JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — "Until everybody involved is arrested, I'm going to shake Duval County," said Elizabeth Gainer, another mother impacted by the gun violence in Jacksonville.
Her son, 16-year-old Adrian Gainer, was shot and killed in the Hill Top Village apartment complex on the Northside Monday afternoon. Now, she is fighting to find her son's murderer.
Mad Dads of Jacksonville held a vigil for the family on Wednesday evening, where the rain matched the mood.
"I just want justice for my child," Gainer said. "I'm going to rock this city until they get justice for my baby."
She said her son was walking home from school when he was hit by a bullet. She made a public outcry to ask people to report anything they know.
"The reason a lot of these murders are not getting solved is because nobody's saying nothing," she said.
Adrian's grandmother shouted during prayer, "please put these guns down!"
"My son was a straight-A student," Gainer said. "He might have made gangster rap music, but he was not a thug. He was not a gangster."
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office hasn't made any arrests in this case. The family is asking anyone with information to call the police. You can always call the anonymous tip line Crime Stoppers at, at 1-866-845-TIPS (8477).
