JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Pediatric dentist Howard Schneider used to have his wife work as his office administrator, Ducal County Court records show. That was before he lost his practice. That was also before he lost his wife.
According to the court documents, Schneider and his wife Deborah have agreed to sell their Riverside home but have millions in assets they can't agree on how to split.
As one of the only dentists who accepts Medicaid in the area, he made millions in reimbursements.
The divorce comes after weeks of protesters and former patients accusing Schneider of abusing children.
Schneider's former wife alleges in the divorce papers, though, that she's been blocked from the money she says is partially hers.
But, Schneider details in court records that his wife has a trust worth more than $2 million dollars and another IRA with $147,000.
Schneider voluntarily relinquished his license to the Florida Board of Dentistry last month. But right now, there still is a Medicaid fraud investigation into him headed by the Florida Attorney General and a number of malpractice cases against him in the courts.
Attorneys for both Howard and Deborah Schneider told us by phone they were not able to speak publicly about the divorce at this time.
