ID=13587801JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There are new developments in the murder retrial of Michael Dunn.

At a hearing Monday, the defendant appeared in front of Judge Russell Healey.

Prosecutors and the defense revealed they are on track for a September 22 retrial.

Earlier this year, a jury convicted Dunn of several counts, including attempted second degree murder, related to the 2012 shooting death of Jordan Davis. However, the jury failed to reach a verdict on the most serious charge of first degree murder.

The shooting happened at a gas station on the city's Southside in November 2012.

Prosecutors said Dunn fired several shots into an SUV filled with teenagers, including Davis. They said he got into an argument with the teens over how loud they were playing their music.

Dunn previously testified that Davis threatened him. He also said he thought he saw a gun in the Dodge Durango the teens were in. Investigators said those allegations turned out to be false.

Dunn currently faces at least 60 years in prison for the crimes he's already been convicted of. The victim's father, Ron Davis, said he just wants justice for his son.

"We are looking forward to our day in court. We are looking forward to justice for Jordan," he said.

Dunn remains behind bars at the Duval County Jail. His next hearing is schedule for August 25. Jury selection is scheduled for September 22.
