JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A medical marijuana dispensary has bought the former Famous Amos restaurant building in Mandarin, according to a report by the Florida Times-Union.
Harvest DCP of Florida L.L.C. paid $1.25 million to FARE San Jose L.L.C. for the 3,772-square foot building and roughly one-acre site at 10339 San Jose Blvd., according to Duval County court records.
The site is slated to become the second Harvest House of Cannabis in Jacksonville. The first is 10095 Beach Blvd., Suite 450.
It is part of Harvest Health & Recreation, Inc.headquartered in Tempe, Ariz., which is a multi-state cannabis dispensary operator. It has five other stores in Florida, according to the company website.
Harvest has Florida licenses for up to 35 medical dispensaries, one cultivation facility, one manufacturing facility. Its other dispensaries are in Tallahassee, Kissimmee, North Point and Longwood, records show.
Famous Amos with its Western-themed ranch-style decor and family-friendly atmosphere welcomed Mandarin diners for 40 years. It closed in early June.
That leaves three of the restaurants in Jacksonville. The remaining locations are 8265 Normandy Blvd., 3911 W. University Blvd. and 11565 N. Main St.
