JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A construction worker was trapped underwater and drowned in an incident on Glen Kernan Parkway East near the University of North Florida Campus around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the man accidentally drove a Bobcat skid steer into a pond and was trapped.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Police say the victim was an "unidentified Hispanic male," between 20 and 25 years old.
OSHA is investigating the case. JSO says no one else was around at the time to see what happened.
