JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Vietnam veteran was found shot in the head inside a Northside home during a welfare check on Wednesday, family members told First Coast News.
Family members identified the veteran as 69-year-old Gary Tripp and said he was found on the 8200 block of Merrivale Rd.
JSO did not confirm this information and said his death was under suspicious circumstances.
Police do not have suspect information at this time, nor do they know how long he has been dead.
JSO's homicide unit and crime scene unit are on the scene investigating. They ask anyone who might know anything about the man's death to call JSO at 904-630-0500.
