JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was killed in a traffic crash at the intersection of State and Jefferson streets early Sunday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
A woman in her mid-20s was driving westbound on State Street and collided with a man in his mid-60s was driving a Mini Cooper southbound on Jefferson Street around 8:35 a.m. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals for treatment, police said, with the victim dying shortly after arrival.
Detectives are working to determine if speed or impairment were a factor, JSO said.
It is the 76th traffic fatality in Duval County this year, the agency said.
