More than $45,000 in Legos taken from nonprofit

Charity V for Victory said the toys were part of its "Bricks of Love" program.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A nonprofit says a warehouse where it stores expensive Lego toys was robbed this week, with suspects making off more than $45,000 worth of the bricks.

According to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report, about five pallets of Lego sets belonging to V For Victory were reported stolen at 10 p.m. on Wednesday at 1509 Hendricks Ave.

The victim told police the storage room was locked using a combination lock and only employees had the code, the report said.

V for Victory did say it was able to serve more than 825 families in 2023 as they battle cancer.

They distributed more than 2,000 Lego sets to local children receiving cancer treatment and provided nearly 28,000 meals to V4V families dining in at V Pizza. They stated they have raised more than $400,000.
