PALATKA, Fla. — A three-alarm fire erupted at a large commercial building in East Palatka Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. Around 5:30 p.m., PCFR reported they were in the "cleaning up" phase.
No one was injured and roads are reopened.
According to the Putnam County Fire Rescue, there were heavy flames and there have been "multiple large explosions."
Oxygen tanks and acetylene (a colorless, flammable gas) tanks were exploding inside the building.
Eleven units responded from PCFR, as well as three from St. Johns County.
The business is an agricultural machine shop, which repairs farming equipment.
Exposure to acetylene can be dangerous.
