$6,000 reward offered for information leading to killer of Jacksonville father of two

Kevin Jackson Jr. disappeared in April 2023 and his remains were found in the same month

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It has been a year since 33-year-old Kevin Jackson Jr., a Jacksonville father of two, disappeared. While his remains were found, Jackson's family said they don't have closure yet. Veronica Jackson, Jackson's mother, said she believes someone has the answers to what happened to her son.

Family and friends garnered $3,000 for anyone who has information on what happened to Kevin Jackson. First Coast Crime Stoppers also has a $3,000 reward, making the total prize $6,000 for answers leading to his killer.

He was last seen leaving his work truck on April 7, 2023, in the 3700 block of Faye Road on Jacksonville's Northside. His family reported him missing on April 10. His remains were found April 25 near Interstate 95 and Broward Road. Five days later, his car was found on fire in the 2200 block of W. 43rd Street.

"That has totally devastated our family as a whole," Veronica Jackson said. "When something like this happens you expect closure and getting over it."

Birthdays, holidays, and most recently Mother's Day, were painfully different this year without her son, Veronica Jackson said.

She expressed how life without her son has been a year of 'firsts'; birthdays, holidays and the most recent Mother's Day. Veronica said the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office can't say much because they don't want to jeopardize the investigation. She said her son didn't show signs of drug abuse nor was he diagnosed with any mental illness.

"First and foremost it's hard enough but, then to not receive any type of answers or any type of answers or any type of justice is very very frustrating," Veronica said.

If one knows anything about what happened to Kevin, they're urged to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers.
