Stories of Service: Jacksonville's Kalilah Singletary serves as motor transport operator in Japan

Singletary rehearsed actions in a deployed environment at the Combine Arms Training Center in Japan to increase her capabilities and problem-solving skills.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — First Coast News is proud to put a spotlight on the brave men and women who proudly wear the uniform of our armed forces and serve our country around the world.

In this week's Stories of Service, a Marine learning a variety of techniques halfway around the world takes center stage.

Jacksonville's Kalilah Singletary is a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps and serves as a motor transport operator with the 3rd Transportation Battalion. She's based at the Combine Arms Training Center in Camp Fuji, Japan.

While there, Singletary and other Marines rehearsed actions in a deployed environment to increase their own capabilities and problem-solving skills. She also rehearsed leave-fire operations to practice delivering precise direct and indirect fire.

There was also training in refueling a joint-light tactical vehicle as part of the training in Camp Fuji, Japan.

First Coast News is grateful for Marines like Singletary who receive so much training in ways to protect our freedom at home and abroad.
